Katy Dye is a theatre maker based in the UK. She is interested in creating work that gets audiences to create their own moral guidelines. Her work often focuses on dehumanisation, censorship and freedom of speech. She is interested in what is offensive, and what is or what is not acceptable to talk about or embody. She wants to challenge herself and her audience to listen to ideas they may not have traditionally aligned themselves with. Katy often creates work that invites audiences to re visit difficult aspects of human nature to further understand what it means to be a human being! She aspires for her work to be Adam Curtis meets contemporary performance..but without the camera.. a bit more mess..and a bit more music by Dusty Springfield!
Katy has worked with In Between Time, Camden People’s Theatre, The Royal Lyceum Theatre, Buzzcut, Untitled Projects, Z arts Centre in Manchester, The Rich Mix, National Theatre of Scotland and is an associate artist with Platform Theatre in Glasgow. She is also a member of The Single End collective - Barras Art and Design. She is a graduate from the Contemporary Performance Practice course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
