Swan Lake was a piece where four professional brass musicians gave a concert of Tchaikovsky's music from the ballet, Swan Lake, whilst submerged in the water of a swimming pool. Directed in 2013 by Sarah Short and Katy Dye, the piece was created to upend ideas about where people go to take part in 'high' culture, such as ballet or opera.  Swan Lake is a performance that explores questions relating to class, culture, 'high art',  'low art' and access.

It took place at The Gorbals Leisure Centre, Glasgow, when Sarah and Katy were students on the Contemporary Performance Practice course at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
